As a full-time mum, I often find myself staring at the clocks and longing for a willing bed time to come earlier. The more they grow the more they want to be up for a longer time. If you are a mum, or daddy playing a mummy role I don’t need to explain myself further. Embracing motherhood involves finding joy in the small moments. I learned the other day that the Lord entrusted those kids to you for a purpose. You are to pastor, care for, support, and nurture them for a purpose. Focus on bonding with them.

Waking up and journaling everything sounds good and more encouraging these days though to, be honest, not all days ihave the energy to. I do love positive affirmations, but the” I’m a great mum never hit me right”. I know parenting is hard. Am a great parent, but at times am not. Balancing motherhood with being a great mom is not easy but am doing my best to conquer my small world. I can say I’m in love with what I’m doing. It keeps me on my toes to do better and be more aggressive in all areas of my life. When I look at my children am filled with admiration, wonder, and curiosity. My heart bursts with joy, love, and laughter full of life. More empowered to grow and take care of myself since the journey started.  Am working hard to be a good enough mum, the healthiest for my family to have and play with. You can never carry grace from an empty heart. You must choose to be intentional with your journey. Find contentment with the little things in motherhood. Perfection and motherhood are two words apart but do your best.

I worry if my children will grow up to be great, strong, empowered, and farsighted. I worry because I am a mother. Yes! I do worry and get a little bit anxious often. I have many questions running through my mind. But, I sort of realized it’s the norm for so many mothers. I’m encouraging my fellow mothers to keep praying and teaching their children.

Here are some of the ways to help you enjoy motherhood.

Count your blessings.

Make a special effort to appreciate every good thing in your life with a lot of gratitude.  Counting your blessings shows you are grateful. It is better to be grateful for your blessings rather than taking them for granted. Sometimes we are not appreciative of our blessings and fortunes until they are gone. See your children as a blessing. Nurture and support them as best you can. Seek your blessing from your father in heaven. Talk to him and ask for his help. You’re working in his vineyard by nurturing your children as he wants.

Maintaining a long-term perspective

The arrow of time is unforgiving. Uncertainty becomes associated with a particular version of the future. This happens when ideas of steering and control enter the picture. As humans, we often have the idea and possibility of many outcomes. But in motherhood, you must give yourself something to look forward to. Find purpose within yourself. Understand what your end goal is. You want responsible, reasonable children who can adapt anywhere, anytime, without losing control.” Be present in your children’s life. Remember not to forget yourself on your journey.

 Be supportive and play with your kids.

Playing improves your child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. It’s also very important a lot for young people. Through play, children learn about the world and themselves. Providing resources that reflect children’s age interests, knowledge, strengths, and abilities helps alot .you can play outdoor games like throwing balls and swimming. You can read together and listen to music, sing along, cook together, and watch a movie together. I somewhat believe in loving and Love without toxicity, but don’t support harmful behavior. What do I mean? Have a dialogue and listen to what your kids want, and try to understand what they want, and why they think that way. Nurture their interest by keenly observing all possible vices. We all have weaknesses. Again, be keen on little things like the kind of music, reading and TV programs too.

Take time for yourself.

In my world, self-care has no definitions or specifications. We all have different needs. It can be going out, reading, swimming, or anything else that recharges you. Bearing in mind it will give you some joy, and satisfaction. Remember, not one person alive is thinking of you more than you are thinking of yourself. Put yourself first one day at a time, and desire to give the best to your family.

Remember Motherhood is hard.

Motherhood can be demanding. It involves constant care, emotional investment, and juggling various responsibilities. Parenting can be challenging. This is because of sleepless nights, multitasking, and the emotional roller coaster. Balancing personal needs with caring for a child requires resilience and adaptability. At some point, you will start losing it. Children are a blessing in all senses. But at some point, you will feel overwhelmed. Especially if everyone is pursuing their life interests, and you have lagged. You have to choose between other interests. Learn to rest.

Learning to rest in motherhood is crucial for physical and mental well-being. Acknowledge that self-care is not selfish. You can only do this if you find fun ways to enjoy motherhood with your family.

Maintaining open and honest communication with your partner. Share your feelings, concerns, and experiences to stay connected. Parenting is a team effort. It involves sharing responsibilities, collaborating on decisions, and supporting each other through challenges.

Be flexible.

Parenting comes with unexpected challenges. Be flexible and adaptable. All corners will pinch you hard. Celebrate success, both big and small. Acknowledge and appreciate the effort your partner makes. Also, thank any person who offers you help.
